Day 30: Windy, wet, delightful

Vilaserío to O Logoso / 15.6 miles

  • Thinking the weather couldn’t be worse than yesterday and getting even more hopeful when the first ten minutes were dry!
  • Feeling raindrops on Minute 11 and thinking “this is fine”
  • Walking through a storm that had rain hitting me at a 45 degree angle because the wind was so strong
  • Having my backpack raincover blown off by said wind
  • Meeting Laura from Italia who hikes in jeans and helped me put my raincover back on
  • Spending the rest of the day with Laura, conquering the storm and finding pockets of sunshine
  • Hiking my fastest day yet thanks to Laura’s jean-powered power walking
  • Saying bye to Laura a town before mine, as she peeled off to stay the night in Olveiroa
  • Arriving in O Logoso with soaked shoes but a full heart
  • Only six euros for washing and drying that the hospitaleros did for me meant dry clothes for the next day
  • A massive double rainbow filling the valley after another rainstorm passed through
